Rotaract
Rotaract is an International Organization and is affiliated with Rotary International. There are many Rotaract chapters at college campuses in the US and around the world. We do service projects (such as fundraisers for disaster relief, blood drives for the American Red Cross, and other worthwhile activities to better humanity here and around the world). Rotaract was founded in 1968 by Rotary International, a worldwide association of service-minded business and professional leaders. Today there are more than 7,500 Rotary-sponsored Rotaract Clubs in some 156 countries around the world, with over 173,000 members.
Most Rotaract activities take place at the club level. Rotaract clubs hold formal meetings which feature speakers, special outings, social activities, discussions or visits to other clubs. Club members get together for service project work, social events, or professional/leadership development workshops.
The fundamental aims of Rotaract are to:
- Develop professional and leadership skills.
- Serve your community and promote goodwill.
- Gain an understanding of the needs, problems, and opportunities in your community and worldwide.
Rotaract is a combination of the words "Rotary" and "Action".
Rotaract members are typically 18-30 years of age.

FMCC 2006 Blood drive sets new Record
Congratulations! The Red Cross Drive held on campus recently sponsored by the Student Nurses Association and the Rotaract Club set a new record of 58 pints collected.
The success of this event can be directly attributed to the volunteer/charitable spirit that exists at FMCC and the outstanding leadership of the co-chairs, Suzanne Phillips and Tonye Grega. These two nursing students organized and coordinated the drive, and demonstrated superior leadership.
Thanks again to everyone that helped by donating, volunteering time or support.
